A stain is a discoloration that can be clearly spotted from the surface it is found upon.
It is a dirty mark that is difficult to remove.
Sometimes it can’t be removed, we give up on trying to get it out and the stain remains forever.
But for those who keep on trying, there is one that will truly work.
The same holds true for some of the stains that appear in our lives.
Sin is a stain that has a damaging effect on our lives, we give up on trying to wash ourselves of it and the sin remains in our lives forever.
Causing a permanent stain on our relationship with God.
On our own, it is impossible to remove the stain of our sins.
We must learn to walk in the light of His salvation.
Remembering that through the power of His death and resurrection, Jesus has done what we could not.
All that He went through was for the benefit of man.
Even when it’s hard to believe, we should cling to this truth.
He has made it possible for us to be cleansed and purified of all our sins.
Allowing us to have fellowship one with another and tell anyone who will listen about God’s cleansing power.
God is willing and ready to wash away the effects of sin for anyone willing to return to Him (v.9).
Through Christ, we can live a life of freedom and hope.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, let us walk in the light, as You are the light. Let us honestly confess all our sins, relying on Your mercy and truth. When we do, the light that shines brightly through us will show the beauty of being cleansed from sin. Thank You for the forgiveness You give, and our deliverance from the power and practice of sin.
