Loving All

But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 19:34 KJV

A stranger is a person who does not know, or is not known in, a particular place or community.

They often feel alone and unwelcomed when they arrive somewhere new.

The Lord desires that our reception of all should be friendly and generous.

Be it in a new neighborhood or new neighbors. In a store or someone visiting our churches.

Showing love and treating others like they belong there is the key.

Prayerfully, they will accept this love and exhibit the same.

The Israelites were settling into a new land and had to figure out how to relate to other people.

God commanded them to treat foreigners like their own kind, and to love them as themselves.

God spoke of this in His law in Exodus 23:9 and Deuteronomy 10;19. Centuries later, Jesus commanded us to do the same in Mark 12:31.

When we embrace God’s love for us, it is the key to loving others.

May we have God’s heart to love others as ourselves.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we know that we are not to pick and choose our duties, but we must aim to stand complete in all Your ways. Knowing that the more our lives and tempers are properly shown, the happier we will be. When we are happy, the happier will we make those all around us. Reaching out to them with Your love. You are the key to loving others.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
