It is human nature to want to have a firm belief in the character, strength, or truth of someone or something.
But as we go through life, we will meet many people who “walk in the vanity of their mind.”
A vanity defined as a form of self-idolatry, in which case, they liken themselves to the greatness of God for the sake of their own image.
The person is separated from God and, in time, may no longer walk in the Divine grace of God.
We may hear what someone else is saying and acknowledge the right to their opinion, but there is no substitution for the Word. No substitution for doing what is right.
We are not to be as the unconverted Gentiles and walk in vain fancies and carnal affections.
Thinking more highly of ourselves and forgetting what the Lord has and is providing for us.
We are to walk in wisdom, purity and holiness.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, help us to obey Your Word. To heed Your voice and not be misled by man’s vanity and carnal ways. Let us make Your will and ways our choice. We don’t want our living to be in vain.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
