One Needful Thing

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Luke 10:42 KJV

Busy schedules consume our lives.

So much so, that we need to make a list or schedule to prioritize how we want to handle things.

Starting with what is most important, must be done now, to what should come next, to what can be put off for a while.

Showing our love and spending time with the Lord should always be first on our list.

Jesus at the house of Martha and Mary is one example of the need to manage how we do things.

Yes, being a good host or hostess over our matters is important.

But spending time with the Lord is the one needful thing that is most important.

It is our way to show we are ready to receive the Word and submit to His guidance.

As true believers, we should not let worldly things keep us from serving God first and doing the other things accordingly.

We want God to declare we have chosen well and receive all the good things He has in store for our lives.

A WORD OF PRAYER

God, our happiness and salvation depends on us finding favor in Your sight.  May we take the proper time to sit at Your feet, hear the Word and live by it. Letting nothing separate us from Your love, the love of Christ and our ability to put the Word first on our list daily.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen
