Which Pile Are You In?

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.  Matthew 13:30 KJV

While the major factor determining the time of harvesting wheat is the maturity of the crop, there can be other factors that are also important for consideration.

Tares are a bad weed that resembles wheat.

Farmers have to separate the wheat from the tares by a process of threshing (loosening the hull) and winnowing (getting rid of the hull).

Separating the bad wheat from the good wheat.

In this parable, a wheat field had deliberately been polluted by an enemy who sowed the seeds of the weeds to intermix with the wheat.

The field represented the world; the good seed, the righteous followers of Christ and the tares, those who follow Satan.

Because it is easy for the two to be intermingled, we have to be careful to only do that which is good.

We need to ask the Lord for assistance in knowing who around us is truly following Him.

Help in ensuring we are not making false judgements. Keeping us safe and on track until the final judgement.

Once we know who is not abiding by the Word, we still need to encourage them to come to the Lord, or change their ways while there is still time.

So at the great day of harvesting we will all be in the bundle of the good.  Headed for God’s barn.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we know it sometimes hard to distinguish between the righteous and the wicked. But when we are truly with You it will be made known.  You are the sower of good seed andthough good and bad are together in this world, on that great day of harvesting they shall be parted. We pray that we remain steadfast in Your Word and have the ability to help guide someone to You, so we all can be in the barn together.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
