Sacrifice is the true measure of one’s generosity.
The act of giving up something that you want to keep in order to help someone else.
There are many who talk a good talk but are not doers.
But the Corinthians in this chapter were showing that they knew how to talk a good talk and perform it well.
That we can do the same.
The best way to describe our duties as Christians are based on the grace and love of Christ.
Christ was rich. He was dwelling in Heaven with God, equal in power and glory with the Father, yet He not only became man for us, but became poor also. Eventually becoming a sacrifice on the cross for all mankind.
If He could do all that for us, we should be willing to give the Lord whatever He requires of our time, our earthly possessions, and our energies to further His work.
Our willingness to sacrifice is an indication of our devotion to God.
We will always be tried and tested to see if we are truly willing to put the things of God first in our lives.
If everyone of us gave a little bit of our time, it can amount to great things.
Our blessed Savior gave His all, we can surely afford to make a sacrifice too.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, You have good purposes for our lives if we would persevere. Not just in our thinking but in our actions. We know we can’t do everything, but what we can and lovingly do, You are pleased with. May we continue to be faithful servants bringing You glory and honor.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
