Proverbs 15:1 KJV
Many of us have found ourselves in situations where we lost control and said things that we wish we could take back.
In spite of our good intentions, our loud and inflamed words only made matters worse.
The only sure way to control, not only our emotions and words, but also the responses of others is to do as the Lord says.
We must be careful of what we say and how we say it.
Keeping our voices soft as not to provoke anger.
Thinking before we speak to ensure we say things the right way.
A soft answer, well thought, is the means to turn away emotional responses.
So the next time an argumentative situation arises, remember to avoid words that stir up anger. Think and speak softly to quench the flames that try to rise.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, let our actions in any matter be done with patience and meekness. Not with strong and uncontrollable emotions. We know that nothing stirs up anger like grievous words. Help us to choose the right way to approach all situations with soft words.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
