There are many valuable objects that belonged to a family for several generations.
They are of special value and handed down from one generation to another.
It comes in many forms, from a favorite Bible, family pictures, to anything with sentimental value.
But there is something with even greater sentimental value, to be passed to our children, and those we love.
That is being an example of someone who put their faith in the Lord.
That’s what Paul noticed about Timothy’s grandmother, Lois and his mother, Eunice.
Two strong women who placed their faith in the Lord and passed it on to him.
Seeing the success they had with Timothy, who became an excellent and useful minister. It gave him encouragement.
It was a prime example that shows faith helps build our honorable character and good name.
A value that allows us to make it through all things in life.
So as we think about what we want to pass on to our children or loved ones, let the example of our faith in the Lord be the greatest example.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, to leave sentimental things behind for our children and loved ones is good, but the greatest is what we leave ‘in’ them. Our faith in You is the greatest gift we could ever have. A gift that needs to be passed on to generations to come. Teaching of Your love and favor.
