But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25 KJV
There is not a day that goes by that we don’t long for wholeness in our lives.
We desire a quality of life that gives us a feeling of completeness and not one that feels divided or damaged.
We long for peace, to feel loved and cherished.
To see the many things, we have been praying for to fall into place.
But often, we feel alone, like it never will happen, and begin to lose hope.
The Father hears our prayers, and desires to fill our needs.
We must remain hopeful and patiently wait.
Psalms 42 is a good example that this can be done.
The psalmist has on many occasions brought to light how we can handle some of the situations we all face in life.
In this chapter, he spoke to God and had a desperate longing for healing (vv. 1-2).
His circumstance caused him sadness and he felt like it would never end and go away (v.3)
Making the times of joy a distant memory (v.6).
We all have had our days when it feels like we have consuming waves of troubles and pains that sweep over us (v.7).
And like the psalmist, we feel abandoned, like God is not with us, and ask the question, “Why?” (v.9).
Because we really don’t understand why the things are happening like they are.
When we read this chapter, we find the reassurance we need that reminds us that we are never alone.
That just like the psalmist was going through, he still had hope.
That we need to still have hope.
Praying and telling the Lord about our concerns.
The Lord is always showing His lovingkindness towards us (v.8).
Let us continue to hold on to our glimmers of hope, love, and joy.
We need patience, our way is rough and long; but He that shall come, will come, though He seems to tarry. (Romans 8:25).
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, there are so many things we are going through in our lives, and it seems like our healings may never come. Help us to never lose hope and wait patiently on You to come through for us. As we wait for those blessings, help us to rest and sing songs of praise.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
