Inseparable

Read: Romans 8:32-39 / Hosea 11:8-11

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:39 KJV

It is no secret that we all have something that we can’t give up.

Something that we treasure.

It can be a person, a passion, or even a possession.

That is how the Lord feels about us.

We are His treasure.

In the book of Hosea, God is telling us that He won’t give up on Israel, His chosen people.

They are His treasured possession.

That when Israel was weak, helpless, and foolish, He still loved them.

God provided them with everything they needed: land to live on, food to eat, something to drink, clothing and protection.

He even took away the burdens they had long groaned under.

But Israel was very ungrateful, rejected God’s counsels and did things their way.

What God wanted to do for them would have saved them.

The more God tried to help them, the further they drifted away (Hosea 11:2).

Even though they had rejected the Father, He would not give up on them (v.8).

He would discipline Israel in hopes of redeeming them and restoring His relationship with them (v.11).

They were His children and He wanted only the best for them.

The same holds true for us.

We can find comfort in that fact that His discipline is not because He is rejecting us, but He is desiring that we stay on the right track.

If you or anyone you know has lost their direction, the Lord, with open arms, is still waiting on our return.

We are God’s children and His love for us is one that will never go away; never let us go (Romans 8:37-39).

He won’t give up on us.

We are His treasure.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, just like Israel we have times when we forget all that You have done for us. We become hard-headed when we should have listened to what You were telling us and appreciate all You have done. The punishments we receive are what we needed to get us back on track. You always know what is best for us. Thank You for the love You show us and how You never give up on us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
