The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children. Titus 2:3,4 KJV
Parents are an essential part of life.
Mothers contributes a great deal to our upbringing and how we handle things in life.
It is truly amazing to hear them talk about the things they experienced years ago.
How some of them still relate to things that are going on in the world today.
My maternal grandmother was the only grandparent I had growing up.
To be around her and hear her speak meant a lot to me.
She was a woman of God, was full of faith and wisdom.
An example of how a woman striving to walk in faith should live her life.
I could see where my mother got it from.
I am thankful that my children had the opportunity to benefit from knowing both their maternal and paternal grandparents.
It was a blessing that they could hear them testify of their faith and their love of the Lord.
The love they have for each other and their children.
Talking about the things they experienced in life and how faith in the Lord played a part in their lives.
It is a blessing to hear older Christians, like our grandparents, speak about things past.
Hearing about their faith in God, to one another and their children.
That faith works by love and God is love.
We should be thankful for the strong heritage of faith, love, and family.
That as grandparents and parents, the richest inheritance we can leave our children is one of a Godly example.
So that the faith they have will become the faith received by generations to come.
A family that is truly blessed.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that the richest inheritance we can leave is one of a Godly example. Let us be thankful for the faith and love shown by our older family members. How they received the Word and lived by it. So, it can be passed on and received by generations to come.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
