Enjoy His Gift

Read: Ecclesiastes 5:16-20

Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. Ecclesiastes 5:19 KJV

We all know that God never moves without a purpose or a plan.

He knows the ending of each path we take and the shadows that lie ahead of us.

When we look at all we have and how far we have come, it should be a reminder that it is a gracious gift from God.

In Ecclesiastes, the Teacher is looking at the meaning of life and searches for the lasting value of life.

He saw God at every turn in his life, in his enjoyment of material things.

How the power to be able to eat of the fruits of our labors and even the strength to receive and rejoice in them is from God (vv. 18-19).

We deserve nothing. God owes us nothing. But He gives us everything we need; not just what we want.

From the beginning to the end, all of life is a continuous gift.

When we remember this, we won’t feel selfish or guilty about what we have in life but know and enjoy them as a gift from God.

Our Father knows best.

Rejoice in Him, He never makes a mistake.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, You never make a mistake and You know the end of the path we take. You are the Bread of Life, the only food for our souls. Let us never forget to take the time to rejoice about the many blessings You have given us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
