Good Practices

Read: Romans 1: 21-37 KJV

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves. Romans 1:24 KJV

Tending to a garden takes work.

Our lack of care for it allows other unwanted, wild plants to grow.

No one wants to have a garden that is overgrown with weeds and not producing the desired crop.

That is why we have to constantly take the time to get rid of all the weeds, so they can’t keep growing and spreading.

One of the key ways is to kill the weeds first and then apply fertilizers.

A well-fertilized garden can remain weed-free when we do this.

The results being a beautiful garden that produces a good crop.

The same holds true with our Spiritual lives.

We can start off good with following the Word and something comes in as a distraction.

Sin begins to take over because we give up on weeding out the bad things.

God sometimes deals with our sinful ways the way we should be dealing with our weed-infested gardens.

He is constantly trying to clean up our sin-infested lives.

It is up to us to help keep the weeds from coming back.

Knowing that when we do, it makes it possible for the good to grow even more in our lives.

The Apostle Paul is showing us that all mankind needs the salvation of the gospel.

That when we continue to allow sin to abide, God will withdraw His restraining hand and let sin do it’s deadly work.

When it comes to sin, we need to weed it out.

When we see that which is not of God trying to grow in our lives, we should warn each other of their deadly consequences.

The key way to kill sin is to repent and apply the Word to our lives.

It is the best fertilizer we can ever use to keep sin away.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord,  we don’t want any sinful thoughts and deeds to take over our lives. Just like we take weeds out of a garden, let us live according to the Word and take sin out of our lives. We don’t want You to give up on us. We want to prosper in all Your ways. Thank You.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
