A parent is someone who takes care of a child.
Parents who truly care for their children try to be fair and just when they discipline them.
They take in to consideration each child’s uniqueness.
Knowing that each child behaves in different ways and the words we speak have different effects on each one of them.
In any case our chastisement should be done with love.
The same holds true in our Spiritual Lives.
It is good to know that God deals with us based on our individual personalities.
He is the Father who knows us better than we know ourselves.
He chastens us when we don’t listen and continue to live against His will.
His chastisement is always for our good.
It is done because He loves us and wants the best for us.
In this chapter of Hebrews, even though a specific sin was not indicated, believers were being encouraged not to lose their faith.
Not to do things the wrong way, but to remain confident in their walk.
When we fail to listen we get in trouble.
A trouble that needs correcting.
While God’s correction is not condemnation, it is a chastening.
The discipline that our wise and gracious Father gives us for our spiritual good.
Only God knows how best to deal with each of us.
He desires for us to have the best things in life.
His expressed disapproval of our actions is just another way of showing His never-ending love for us.
We all just have to maintain and do what is right.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we may question why things are happening and if You are still there. We know the training we receive from You is always true and fair. That we just need to abide by the Word. Thank You for the chastisement to make us better. Giving us the ability to live a happy and productive life.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
