There are times when we feel we have control over everything in our lives.
Things seem to be going real good.
But then something happens.
We all know that things happen in life.
Things that can bring about many situations.
Situations that cause us to have doubts and fears.
Wonderings of how things will turn out.
Sometimes God will allow these things to occur in our lives so we will see the beauty in all He desires to do for us.
To remind us of all He has already done.
How He has always been there to bring us out.
A reminder that there is no situation so distressing or dangerous, in which faith will not give us comfort.
When our spirits are overwhelmed by distress, and filled with discouragement.
When we see snares laid for us on every side.
While we walk in His way.
That is when we can reflect with comfort that the Lord knows the path that we should take.
In this chapter David was praying earnestly to God.
He was going through something, but knew he could ask God for the assistance that he needed.
Thus the Lord delivered him from his powerful persecutors, and dealt bountifully with him.
Those who in sincerity take the Lord for their God, will find him all-sufficient.
He is a Refuge and an everlasting Portion in our lives.
Everything else is a refuge of lies, and a portion of no value.
With a faith that truly trusts the Hand that directs us each and every day, we can praise the Lord and face whatever comes our way.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we know in this life we will have situations that cause us distress and fear. Thank You for allowing us to come to You in prayer. Thank You for the wisdom and knowledge we receive. No matter what life brings our way, we are trusting in Your perfect will.
