For thousands of years and in many different cultures, the dove has been known to be a symbol of peace and innocence.
It has been noted that ancient Greek mythology sees it as a symbol of love and the renewal of life.
In ancient Japan, a dove carrying a sword symbolizes the end of war.
As believers we are Christ’s doves.
One who has given their life to Him and live according to the Word.
A dove that has the opportunity to have peace, innocence, love, and the renewing of life.
And just like a dove has the knowledge to know when to seek shelter in a rock when an enemy tries to prey upon them, we know how to seek refuge in Christ. He is our Rock. The Rock in which we find safety.
But if we do have to fight, He is also the sword we carry.
No matter what we are going through, our faith defeats any sinful thoughts or desire, and anything the enemy tries to bring our way.
We can always hear the Lord’s voice giving us the guidance we need. It is sweet, always having a way of keeping us calm and at peace.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, Thank You for caring for us and allowing us to come to You in Faith and Hope. When the enemy comes at us, Your Word is the Sword we have to defeat him. Making it possible for us to be the dove You created. Always knowing we can find comfort in You.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
