It is human nature to look at someone based on their status in society. But that does not always truly show or portray who they are.
In this chapter, Paul is asking the Christians in Corinth to take a good look at themselves.
He pointed out some things about them, not in a way to put them down, but to bring to their attention that God does not require extreme intelligence or power to become a believer.
He chooses the foolish and weak, as defined by man, to come to Him through faith. Becoming wise and strong.
Shaming those who consider themselves too wise or strong to believe and continue to follow the ways of the world. They become foolish and weak.
The same holds true to this day.
God works through weak vessels. When we receive all that He has for us, then we are made strong.
Don’t be the one who accomplishes everything in their own strength, and try to take the glory that belongs to the Lord for themselves.
Only we who are called of God to believe in His Word will see and receive the strength and wisdom He desires for us to have.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, in our weakness, let Your strength and power flow. Let us get out of Your way and let God be in control! That even though the world sees us as foolish, we know that with You in charge all things are possible. That we see clearly enough to receive what is wise and strong.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
