His Love: Greatest Ever When You Show Others Love

Read: 1 Corinthians 13

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:2 KJV

We all have been blessed with a gift from above.

Many use their gifts faithfully and with great love.

But there are some who need to be reminded that when we do them without love, we are going against the Word.

That without love, we are not pleasing the Father.

The Apostle Paul wrote to Corinthians about this type of mannerism.

He told them how he admired their skills and gifts (1 Corinthians 1:4-7 KJV).

He acknowledged that the church was one of miracles, changed lives, and their success stories (1 Corinthians 6:9-11 KJV).

That they were enriched in knowledge and not without any gift (1 Corinthians 1:5-7 KJV).

But he also pointed out their lack of love (1 Corinthians 11:17-22 KJV).

How they were not showing common courtesy in some things.

That without love, all of the knowledge, gifts, and organizational effort would never be unfolded.

The same holds true to this day.

Without the gift of love, nothing we do is of esteem in the sight of God.

They will not fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.

He desires that we love one another like He loves us.

We all have a gift to share, but love is the greatest of them all.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we are thankful for the knowledge, gifts, and skills You have given us. Thankful for the ability to utilize them daily. We know that if there is no love demonstrated with them, they have no meaning or worth. They go against everything You have shown to us. Help us to be obedient to Your Word. To show love in everything we do. We want to fulfill Your purposes. We know without love, nothing we do pleases You.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
