Read: 1 Corinthians 8
Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. 1 Corinthians 8:1 KJV
The Pharisees of Jesus’ day had profound knowledge of the Old Testament.
So well that many of them would go around telling others how they should be living.
They became so proud, full of oneself, and judgmental of others.
When we look back at the beginning of our Christian walk, we studied the Bible.
We even got to a point when we felt like we knew everything.
We could hear the Word preached and feel like the speaker was getting things wrong.
The knowledge was there, but we were letting pride and a lack of love keep us from getting more wisdom.
It sometimes takes someone else pointing things out to us for us to acknowledge the harm we were doing in our Spiritual growth.
The Word addresses so many aspects of our lives.
The Father does not want us to become proud of our knowledge.
That is the reason Paul has told us, “Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth” (1 Corinthians 8:1 KJV).
We should not let what we know cause us to be at a point where all we do is build ourselves up rather than help build others up.
To let pride outshine our love for one another.
The Father wants us to be like Him when it comes to having knowledge and love.
Use it to help build one another.
Knowledge and love go hand in hand.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that knowledge without love will only make us proud. Giving us a personality that is not pleasing to You. May we come to realize that knowledge plus love will always keep us walking in Your ways. It is the greatest way for us to fulfill what You have predestined for our lives. Help us to always remember that knowledge and love go hand and hand.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
