Read: 1 Peter 3:1-7
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 1 Peter 3:4 KJV
Appearance does not determine who we are.
Society would like us to think it does.
We are always looking at a person’s face, their clothes, and other accessories.
Forgetting this is not a true way of knowing who they are.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to look our best.
But we have to remember that what we may see on the outside does not always reflect what is on the inside.
What is on the inside really defines someone’s character.
With Christ, we have a beauty that is always seen.
We want to be the one that wears it well.
In this passage, Peter was writing about beauty.
“The hidden man of the heart” (2 Peter 3:4 KJV).
The Word he was speaking was for wives and husbands.
Telling them about their duties to one another.
But it has meaning for all women and men.
He reminds us to have a Christlike character.
One that is loving, kind and from the heart.
A reminder of how important it is to maintain it.
It is one that is seen because we are “fearfully and wonderfully” made by Him (Psalms 138:14 KJV).
In His image.
It is a characteristic that is more desirable than anything regarding our outward appearances.
It is one that is not corruptible.
To be exhibited at all times
It is to be one that reflects the love of Christ.
The peace and joy of God.
Beautiful souls will always show the Spirit of Christ wherever they go.
Let nothing dim the beauty that He desires to shine from within.
Always being the blessing He has called us to be.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that our outward appearance is what man looks at the most. But once they get to know us, what they see will be someone who loves You. Someone full of peace and joy. Beautiful souls are what they will see in us. A quality that will always make us look our best. Thank You for making our lives beautiful.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
