This is the Greatest Defense That Really Wins

Read: Psalms 59

But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

Psalms 59:16 KJV

Life can have its ups and downs.

Feelings of danger and difficulties can be felt by every one of us.

We seek to find a way to protect ourselves by building a wall around ourselves.

But some of our defenses are not the right ones.

We still can get wounded and discouraged.

We can even feel defeated.

Feeling like all hope is gone.

Those are times we need to be like the Psalmist.

There are times when we must remember the battles, we face are not our own.

It is just like what all Judah; the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat were told:

“Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15 KJV).

So, whatever our “great multitude” may be, we are to let God be our Defender.

Singing songs of praise that acknowledges His power and His mercy.

Showing that we know that He has been our defense and refuge in the day of our trouble (Psalms 59:16 KJV).

It is a blessing to know that when we face an enemy, that instead of trusting our own resources, we can depend on the Father.

He will always be our strong Defender.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, like David we need to give You praise for the many times that You have been our refuge in the day of trouble. On Your care we can always depend. It is good to know that all our trials can end in joy and peace With us singing songs of Your power and mercy. We will be rejoicing and praising You for the victory won. Thank You Father.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
