Wonderful Life – Making Sure That We Are Always Prepared

Read: 2 Corinthians 5:1-11

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV

We all know that each year we celebrate the date of our birth.

Celebrating the fact that the Lord has blessed us to see another year of life.

We are happy about the time spent with our families.

The ability to watch our children and grandchildren grow.

To watch them experience life.

We all want to live a long life.

But we all know at some point our lives will come to an end.

We will be called home to be with the Master.

As we read 2 Corinthians 5, we see that Paul is talking about the reality of living with the aches and pains of our physical bodies.

How we are not to lose hope because we are aging and all the things that come with it.

He reminds us of what we should do.

He said, “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV).

He was telling us that we should be confident and pleased because we will be present with the Lord forever.

Just the thought of how blessed our lives have been and the fact that it will be even more glorious in Heaven is enough to give us joy.

He is always giving us the strength to make it through the day and even greater hope for tomorrow.

Take the time to enjoy each day of your life.

To live according to the Word.

Tomorrow is not promised to any of us (Proverbs 27:1 KJV).

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, as believers, we know that our death is not the end of life. It is a new beginning. It means we have earned our place in Heaven, holiness, and Your presence. We appreciate all that You have done for us.Thank You for preparing a place for us, so we can be there with You.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
