But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children. (1 Thessalonians 2:7 KJV)
There will always be a time when someone will have to face some form of suffering.
We all undergo personal pains, distress, or injury.
They can be circumstances that motivate us to change our way of behaving.
They can be ones that show us how we are to treat others.
They are changes that help us in surviving the things we face in life.
The Father sees it all.
He loves us.
But because of our sinful nature, He will allow us to go through some things.
He does it so we can grow stronger in our faith.
To show us the changes we need to make in our lives.
So that we become closer to Him and move even further away from sin.
We will then find ourselves in a position like the Apostle Paul.
When he testified in a letter to the Thessalonians’s he not only shared the gospel but of himself too.
He cared about them.
He told them, “We were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children.
So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us” (1 Thessalonians 2:7-8 KJV).
We become living testimonies of His love and care towards us all.
Testifying because we want to show others what it means to go through certain things too.
How their faith may be tested.
How they can come out of any test victorious.
In all our service to the Lord let us not do it just in words or money but in our time and friendship.
We become more like Him when we are sensitive to the sufferings of others.
Walking worthy of God is what matters in all we do.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, while we yet live, we want to be of service to You. There will always be someone who need to be comforted and know they are not alone. To speak of Your love and kindness to all we meet. We are thankful to be called into Your kingdom of glory. It is a great privilege.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
