What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. Psalms 56:3 KJV
We may not like to admit it, but fear is a part of all our lives.
Many choose to ignore, deny, or hide them.
As Christians, we should not be afraid to acknowledge our fears.
It is the best way to overcome them.
We can pray and put our trust in the Lord.
That is what the Psalmist did.
We know that there were many times of trouble that the Psalmist faced.
He said, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee” (Psalms 56:3 KJV).
It is also what the Apostle Paul did (1 Corinthians 2:1-8 KJV).
He was not ashamed to admit that there was a time when he was afraid.
He stood before the people saying, “And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling” (1 Corinthians 2;3).
That should be our encouragement.
Just knowing that if Paul was afraid and still be used of God, lets us know the same can happen in our lives.
He even tells us how he overcame his fears.
“And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4 KJV).
He faced his fears and relied on God.
A prime example of how we may go to and trust in the mercy of God.
When difficulties, fears, and dangers arise, He is always there to surround us with His mercies and love.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we should not be afraid to admit our fears. The more we face them and put our trust in You our faith grows. As our faith grows, going forward we can continue to conquer them. We are grateful that You are the refuge in which we find comfort and strength. Let us be steadfast in the Word and forever put our trust in You.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
