Hurry – It Looks Like a Faithful Work Being Rewarded

Read: Ecclesiastes 9:4-10

Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works. Ecclesiastes 9:7 KJV

No matter our faith status, we all should remember that “time and chance happeneth to [us] all” (Ecclesiastes 9:11 KJV).

The older generation would often remind us that time waits for none of us.

Meaning that we cannot stop the passing of time.

It continues no matter who or where we are.

Making it the main reason we should not delay doing things.

It still holds true to this day.

Time is forever flying by on us.

The same holds true in our walk of faith.

None of us want the Father to find us with our work undone.

When we let sinful actions take the lead in our lives, a sense of hopelessness tends to prevail.

Those are the times we need to change our ways of thinking and how we manage things.

Sinners need to repent and the saved need to remain steadfast in faith.

This verse tells us the benefits obtained when we have done the work of accepting His plan.

A plan that is great for our lives and makes it where we no longer must earn His favor.

That He has already accepted us.

We just must do what is right to remain in that status.

From the moment our work is approved, we should enjoy life.

Every moment of joy we experience described here is to be one of gladness.

During our Christian walk, we need to recognize and accept every moment we live as a gift from Him.

To find heartfelt gladness in everything we do.

A gladness of the heart that comes from a sense of recognizing we have Divine favor.

A favor obtained because we are living according to the Word.

No longer living in a state of sin.

It’s good to know that the Father recognizes and rewards our faithfulness.

Desire to be a good servant for God.

He knows we are more than able to complete the work He has given each of us.

A feast is waiting for each of us.

Be the one to enjoy it.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, there is always work that must be done. Each of us has something to contribute to getting it all completed. We do not want to let You catch us with our work undone. We want You to be pleased with everything we have accomplished. Knowing that where You are, we will reap the blessings You have in store for each of us. Blessings received while here on earth and the blessings to be received when we enter the Heavenly gates. Thank You for the wisdom and trust shown. But most of all for the forgiveness You give.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
