Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem…When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. (Matthew 2:1,10 KJV)
It is always a time for rejoicing when a baby is born.
From the time of conception, we begin to imagine what their life will be like.
Then the day comes when the bundle of joy arrives.
Family and friends express their happiness.
There is so much joy that fills the air.
The life of our Savior had already been prophesied.
There would be those, like Herod, that feared what His birth might bring (Matthew 2:3 KJV).
He tried to destroy Him.
But there would also be those, like the shepherds and wise men, who would see things differently.
They were more than happy to know that the Savior had been born and did not hesitate to travel to see Him (Matthew 2:1 KJV).
“When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy” (Matthew 2:10 KJV).
They followed the star to the place where Baby Jesus was staying.
Rejoicing in His birth.
Happily receiving Him as their Savior.
Not only during this holiday season, but every day, let us rejoice and give praise to the Lord.
Being like the wise men and letting nothing keep us from seeking the Lord.
Remembering how God’s prophecy was fulfilled and is still playing a part in each of our lives.
He knows what we need.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, Jesus is the reason for the season. His birth was ordained to experience how we were living. He is the Steward You sent to help free us from sin. To help supply the guidance needed. A blessing that should be recognized and enjoyed. May we continue to keep a close relationship with You. Gaining all the wisdom You desire for our lives. The best wisdom known to man. Showing our appreciation for all that You are doing for us. His birth was the best thing to happen in our lives. Thank You for bringing Him into our lives.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
