Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Psalms 1:1 KJV
Heaven is our goal.
But right now, we are living in a world where there are many ungodly things happening around us.
Things that have the ability to cause us to stray from what we know is right.
Spiritual dangers, that’s what they are.
That is why we have to be careful about the company we keep.
Being mindful of the places we go.
Staying aware of the things that would cause us to sin.
Temptations are all around us.
Our best defense.
Prayer and holding fast to what the Word says.
We will face temptations every day of our lives.
God has told us, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful” (Psalms 1:1).
He has given many examples of what we need to be careful of.
The harm that they bring and what the outcome can be.
Those are the times we have to remind ourselves that “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4::4).
Nothing that the world has to offer can beat the blessings that God has in store for us.
When we give our lives to Christ, and correct our ways, we become a positive influence on the unbelievers around us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, the Word is how we overcome any temptations we face. It gets hard sometimes, but we know that in You is where our strength lies. When we continue to live by the Word we are in a good position to influence the unbelievers around us. Thank You for giving us what we need to stay away from the things that cause us spiritual harm. We are Blessed!
