He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
Isaiah 40:11 KJV
Though the storms in our lives seem to keep raging, we can find peace.
Even when we start to feel like our lives are taking us on what seems like a roller coaster ride, filled with ups and downs, we can find peace.
Our peace comes because the Word of God stands forever (v.8).
Think about it.
When we look back at all He has brought us through, we will see that in all the experiences we faced we were kept strongly in place.
It often resembles how well we are held on a roller coaster ride.
The love we feel when we picture a shepherd holding a lamb in his loving arms.
That is how are lives are.
The fact that despite everything we are going through, we are always safe, fed, and well-protected in His arms (v.11).
By his word he requires no more service, and by his providence he inflicts no more trouble, than he will strengthen them for.
May we know our Shepherd’s voice, and follow him, proving ourselves his sheep.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we all have our moments when things seem to take control of our lives. We know that as our Shepherd and we Your sheep, we need to follow You. We can always find refuge in Your everlasting arms. Thank You for it all.
