And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 KJV
A good example means more than anyone can imagine.
We never know who is taking notice of how we do things. How we carry ourselves.
It is always great to see someone setting an example of happiness, love and compassion.
They are not letting the negative things get them down.
We all can be a positive example.
No matter what we are going through, when we handle them the Lord’s way, others see it.
What they see in us should be an encouragement.
One that shows the world, no matter our situation, we are not letting it have control.
We are standing strong and we will make it through.
All because we know that the Lord is in control of everything that we face in this lifetime.
That was the reason why Paul spoke highly of the Christians in Thessalonica.
They are prime examples of how easy it is to put our trust in the Lord.
How they were following the Lord, even in their times of hardship.
And the joy they obtained from the Holy Spirit.
A joy that helped them to become “examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe” (1 Thessalonians 1:7 NIV).
They were doing as the Lord said.
They were letting their “ light so shine before men, that they may see [their] good works, and glorify [their] Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16 KJV).
They were letting others know that no matter their hardship to stand strong.
Just being able to see how what we do affects even one person is reason enough for us to follow God’s leading.
We all should desire the best for our lives.
We can have it when we remain steadfast in the Word.
“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is” (Jeremiah 17:7).
The happiness we find in the Lord should be so high that we let nothing bring us down.
Showing the world that following Jesus is all that and more.
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6).
Strive to be that good example that others see and follow.
To do like the Lord did and hear Him say, “Well done.”
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we know that the way we live our lives can play a part in how others may do things. Let us remember to strive to live in the way You did. To be the example that no matter what we go through, by faith we can make it. Our strength and happiness is found in You and shown in how we live. Thank You for it all. We want to have a positive effects upon others hearts and lives.
