Do You First

Read: Luke 6:37-49

Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye. Luke 6:42 KJV

It is so true that it is common for some of us to be quick to point out the faults of others.

Some feel they are pointing them out in the hopes of providing encouragement and support.

Because they have been in the same position and know what it means.

Saying something that will produce a positive result.

Unfortunately, there are some who do it without seeing their own failures or guilt.

They are quick to judge and blame others.

Failing to remember that we all have our own sins or shortcomings. (Luke 6:37-38).

That was the point Christ was making when He “spake a parable unto the disciples concerning how we lay blame on and look down on others around us.

We must be very careful not to do this.

What we speak generally agrees with what we are truly feeling in our hearts.

Without having a giving and forgiving spirit, we won’t be able to reap the benefits that the Lord has for each of us.

He desires that we each examine our own lives and judge not others before we judge ourselves.

No sin goes unnoticed, He deals with them all.

We will find comfort and blessings when we come to Him and ask for forgiveness because we were wrong.

Being kept by His power, through faith, in death and judgment, we are safe and shall not perish.

We all need to take the time to look in the mirror and see what needs to be corrected in our lives.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we need to remember we need to judge ourselves before we judge anyone else. You have laid the foundation on how we should conduct ourselves. All the burden and all the blame lie on us. We all must take the time to ask for forgiveness. When we do, we are kept by Your power through faith. We want to be fruitful in every good word or work we are called to do.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
