But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. Matthew 6:20 KJV
It is a fact that all of us would like to live a life where we have a need for nothing.
No one wants to live in poverty.
Some people spend a lifetime increasing in several things in life.
Their main desire is to increase in their finances, and their status in society.
Always seeking advice on how to grow in material wealth.
Having more than they will need but can’t take it with them when they die.
They gain the material wealth desired but fail to make provisions for increasing Spiritually.
The most important investment that any of us should make.
It is the greatest wealth that has more value in our lives than anything we obtain on this earth.
Failing to do make this investment makes us spiritually poor.
We must never forget about the fact that what we have here on earth will not make a difference when it comes to our life after death.
Worldly focus takes away all the things that result in life eternal.
That is why we need to listen to what the Lord is telling us.
He said, “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal” (Matthew 6:20).
Christ counsels us so we can make the best decisions for our lives.
The ones that ensure we have the joys and glories of those things that are not seen but are eternal.
To achieve it, God requires the whole heart and will not share it with the world.
We are wise to invest more of our time and efforts in getting the wealth of knowledge found in the Word.
To lay up our treasures in Heaven.
When we don’t, we are really living in a wealth of poverty.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, there is no wealth in this world that is greater than the wealth we obtain when we “lay up for [ourselves] treasures in heaven.” We can only do this when we remain steadfast in the Word. When we stop letting the things of this world fool us into believing we need more that we already have. We can’t take any of it with us when we die. Thank You for showing us that material wealth means nothing compared to our Spiritual Wealth. We are never poor when we put our trust in You. The best way to lay up our treasures.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
