Do Your Part

Read: John 15:5-8
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7 KJV

To fulfill a promise simply means to do what we say we will do.

Mankind can make a promise, something happens, and they are unable to fulfill it.

When they constantly do this, it becomes hard for anyone to believe they will, at any time, be able to keep them.

It reminds us of what the Bible says about branches being able to bear fruit in the vineyard.

As believers, we are the branches and Jesus is the Vine.

When we don’t abide in Him, we, as branches, whither and cast into the fire to be burned (v.6).

Our relationship is lost when the Lord is trying to keep His promise to us, but we aren’t keeping our promise to Him.

He told us, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you (v.7).

When we abide in Him, honor Him and do good, we are fruitful.

He desires good for our lives.

It is a blessing to know that what God has promised, He will do.

We just have to do our part.

A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, there will be times when we find that we fall short of our ability to do things. We are thankful that Jesus is the Vine that we are attached to as branches. That He knows what areas in our lives need pruning to help us be fruitful. We promise to continue to abide in Him and the Word because our desire is for Him to abide in us. We are thankful for the promises He will fulfill in our lives.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
