Comfort Zone

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 KJV

For many our comfort zone is a place or situation where we feel safe.

We are at ease and without stress.

A place where we don’t feel anything can go wrong.

It is important to know how dangerous it can be.

We are not watchful, when we get too comfortable.

Making it possible for the devil to find a way to destroy us.

That is why Peter was warning the believers not to go through life not giving thought to these things.

That they needed to be alert.

Satan is always looking for ways to hinder God’s people

Peter told them to actively resist the temptations they encounter and to stand firm in their faith.

The same holds true for us.

The devil is always looking for ways to destroy us.

So, we must actively resist the temptations he throws our way and stand firm in our faith.

When the devil makes these attempts, we are to pray and give them to God.

Leave every event to His wise and gracious ways.

He has promised to be with us in our sufferings.

He is there to handle any situation we find ourselves in.

He is there to make us strong, firm and steadfast.

When we follow the Lord and by His power, we learn to remain watchful and alert.

He gives us the strength and ability to resist the devil in all his ways.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, by Faith, help us to not get to the point of being too comfortable in our spiritual lives. Help us to remain watchful and alert so we can resist any temptations that come our way. With our eyes wide-opened, let us follow You.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
