Confession: Guaranteed it is the Best Resolution for Sins

Read: 1 John 1:5-2:2

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 KJV

Forgiven.

The first step is to acknowledge the sins in our lives.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 KJV).

As we study God’s Word a light of the Lord begins to shine on us.

The Lord’s pure character, genuine love and pure motives will always show us what sinfulness looks like.

Showing us all the things that need to be changed in our lives.

He knows that we have trouble with acknowledging them.

The Apostle John wrote, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8 KJV).

It is a blessing that the Father knew we would struggle in making the needed changes in our lives.

That is why “we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1 KJV).

That “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 KJV).

When we confess our sins, the Savior is always there to plead our case before the Father.

The acknowledging of our sins opens the door to God’s cleansing power.

The power of His Divine forgiveness.

The more we pray and seek His knowledge, we gain the strength needed to keep pressing forward in righteousness.

Daily we must continue to be the temple wholly fit to live the life He has predestined for our lives.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that sin has no place in our lives. We know that through the Divine sacrifice, righteousness, and mercy of Christ, we have been forgiven. All we must do is honestly confess our sins. The first step to our deliverance from it all. We will still have our moments. The Lord is the only one that is perfect in all His ways. That is why we must remember that the Word has told us that when we confess our sins You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. That is why we come to You today acknowledging our sins and asking for forgiveness. For the strength to continue to make the effort to live according to the Word. Thank You for caring so much about us and our well-being. For being the One who always forgives.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
