And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in. Nehemiah 6:11 KJV
A person’s character is described by the way they think, feel, and behave.
Whether they do something in a right or wrong manner.
How they handle things under any circumstance.
Life is full of temptations.
The enemy does a lot to frighten us from our duties.
He wants to lead us to do what is sinful.
We cannot allow this to happen.
Doing what is right is never wrong.
Our moral character is developed when we take the Bible seriously.
The Word is what we should stand on.
The strength of the Word is revealed when, despite what may happen, we stand up for truth.
We keep from doing anything that is wrong.
Nehemiah is an example of the enemy trying to do this.
A false prophet tried to frighten him by telling him that his enemies were coming to kill him.
He tired to convince him that he should lock himself in the inner sanctuary of the temple.
A place where they would not dare enter.
Nehemiah refused.
He knew that the law did not allow anyone except the priest to enter that sacred place.
He questioned what the prophet was telling him.
He stood strong in his beliefs.
Nehemiah would rather risk being killed than to disobey God’s laws.
When something in us is telling us it doesn’t feel right, question it.
We show who we truly are when we stand for what we know is true and right.
Nehemiah is a prime example of how we should handle the situations the enemy brings our way.
The is always going to be someone who will try to bring us down.
Stand on the Word and what God has told us.
All that God has done for us and given us, should lead us to be watchful, denying ourselves and to live in a way pleasing in His sight.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that our enemy is always trying to frighten us. To keep us from our duties and to lead us to do what is sinful. May we never stop from doing a good work. Rejecting anything that goes against the Word. When we take the risk of living according to the Word, our lives will be pleasing in Your sight.
n Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
