Daily Light

Read: John 1:1-7

In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:4 KJV

Here in Florida, as well as in other parts of the world, we have a season of hurricanes.

We are on guard from mid-August until October.

It would sometimes happen so quickly that it would catch us off guard and frightens us.

Sometimes the storms are so bad that we have power outages that can last for days.

Nighttime would come, and it would be so dark that the moon could not be seen.

Strikes of lightening in the sky, followed by the heavier rain flow and loud sounds of thunder could be heard throughout the night.

We would try to get rest, hoping that the storm would pass quickly and if necessary, power be restored.

There were many times that when daybreak came the sounds had vanished and the sun was rising.

You could even hear the birds singing.

Power restored.

What a difference there was between the frightening darkness caused by the storm and the joy of the daylight brought on by the sun, hearing the birds singing and power restored.

That is how our life can feel when we are going through some tough times.

They may seem dark and seem like it will never end.

Almost like driving through a tunnel where it is dark for miles, but you know as you approach the end, there will be light.

Sin and all the troubles that come our way are the means of our storms and darkness.

Our Spiritual power outages.

But with any storm, we are not to allow them to cause fear.

To lose hope and feel that it will never end.

That there will not be light at the end of the tunnel.

Just like we prepare for nature’s storms, the Lord has told us how to prepare for the storms that occur in our lives.

As followers of Jesus, we “shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12).

God is our light in the times of storm and darkness.

Through Him we can make it through any darkness that comes in our lives.

Allowing us to celebrate the joy of sunshine.

The Ray of Sunshine at the end of our “storm tunnel”.

A Sunshine that allows us to walk in the light and beauty of His Kingdom.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, the Word is the Light that shines in our lives. Let us pray without ceasing and our eyes be opened to behold It. So, when we do, we can walk in It and be made wise unto salvation. Keeping our faith in You no matter the storms or dark moments that comes our way.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
