But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see. Deuteronomy 3:28 KJV
Encouragement needs to be shown at home as well as in our workplaces.
Everybody needs it.
There will always be a time when someone we know is facing a change in their life.
Deep down inside we see they may be nervous about the position they are in.
We know how we felt when we had to take on something new.
How it felt when we received encouragement in our time of need.
Words of encouragement are ways to strengthen and motivate one another.
We all need encouragement at some time in our lives.
In today’s Scripture, Joshua was about to take over the leadership position of the Israelites from Moses.
There was no doubt he was feeling some fear.
He wasn’t sure if he was qualified to fill Moses’ shoes.
That is when God told Moses to encourage Joshua.
God knows when we are doubting ourselves.
He always knows who a positive influence in our lives can be.
There are many who need some sign of approval, no matter how small.
It can be in the form of a true word of recognition, or a caring smile.
An honest expression of our appreciation of the good we see in them is always needed and welcomed.
A word of encouragement can make the difference between someone giving up or going further in their success in life.
God has not placed us in certain situations not to succeed.
We all have a part to play to make sure it happens.
Trusting and believing in the Word.
Each day there may be an opportunity to encourage at least one person.
By the grace of God, may we not let it pass us by.
Be a part of His support system.
A person who desires to help and guide others.
We should all desire to see the good happen in someone’s life.
One of God’s goals for our lives.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, for some this may seem of little importance. But encouragement is a need. One that should be shown at home as well as in our workplaces all the time. To say a word of encouragement can make the difference between someone giving up or pressing on in life. Let each of us remember there will be a time when we will need encouragement. It means a lot to so many people.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
