Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it. Deuteronomy 11:8 KJV
We all know that there are rules in life that everyone needs to follow.
We also know that many can speak of the need to follow the rules but then break them themselves.
We all have done it.
It also reminds me of the sayings, “Practice what you preach” and “Obedience is better than sacrifice”.
That is something that relates to the Word.
For any of us, our blessings come when we live according to the Word.
When we show others what it means to do as the Lord has told us.
Moses is one who went before the people with a message on living.
He told them of their future, life and death, the blessings, and the curses that they could encounter when they did not heed God’s commands.
Deuteronomy 11:8 tells us, we must “keep all the commandments which [He] command [us] this day [and every day], that [we] may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither [we] go to possess it.”
Our sins shorten our days and keep us from prospering in all things.
They cause us to be bad examples to those around us.
Making it difficult for them to see the purpose in following God’s commands.
God will bless all who keep His Word with an abundance of all good things, if they would love Him and serve Him.
He has told us in Philippians 4:9, “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”
Just one of the many blessings He has for us when we follow His commands.
None should ever forget that others are listening to what we say, and even more, they are looking at how we live.
Keeping His commands opens the doors to many blessings for us and those around us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, none should ever forget that while we have the promise of life, that all the gladness we feel in our hearts is coming from You. That our peace and joy is seen even more when we follow Your every command. Others are watching to see if we are practicing what we are saying to them. Let us make sure that we are. We all want the blessings that You give when we obey Your commands.
