God Sees It All

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. 2 Chronicles 16:9 KJV

There are many resources to be used when we need direction and guidance.

We turn to family and friends or even try to do our own research.

With technology the way it is, we can get on the internet and search all over the world for possible answers to our questions and concerns.

The problem is, none of these resources are always available and may not be there when we need them the most.

They want to help, but sometimes they are not available, or the system is down.

We must be careful of our actions and who we are depending on for assistance.

In this passage, Hanani the prophet of God, informed Asa, king of Judah that his actions were being looked at and found to be geared toward listening to someone else and not the Lord.

He went on to explain that the Lord’s eye goes throughout the earth to give strength to those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.

He also let him know that because of his lack of dependence on the Lord, he would always be at war.

There would always be trouble in his life. And it was.

When we read these words, we might get the impression that God is watching our every move so He can pounce on us like a bird of prey.

This is not the case.

Hanani words were to be of a positive note. Letting Asa know that God is continuously watching over us, waiting on us to call on Him when we are in need.

He said what he said, to try to convince Asa of his folly.

That he, of all men, had no reason to distrust God, who had found him such a powerful Helper.

Let us not be like Asa but see how deceitful our hearts can be when we look at other things to assist us and we begin to depend too much on them.

Only trusting in God when the need drives us to Him.

When we have nothing or no one else to trust in.

We need to walk in faith, have patience, and continue in obedience, in all conflicts and sufferings.

Look to our own hearts, that they may be perfect towards God.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we know there will be times when we think we can figure things out on our own. May we remember that we can always come to You first to get the knowledge, we need. You are always there to strengthen our hearts so we can be fully committed to You. Thank You Savior!

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
