God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24 KJV
There are times when people come together and discuss a topic of interest.
They voice their opinions and ask questions.
This happens in our natural and spiritual lives.
It is not uncommon for someone to want to have a conversation and express their thoughts on who God is to them.
I read a devotional that said, “An atheist was engaged in a public debate with a Christian about the existence of God. To emphasize a point he was making, the atheist wrote these words on a blackboard: “God is nowhere.” In rebuttal the Christian simply slit the last word so that the statement read, “God is now here”.
That is so true!
One could only imagine what the witnesses to this public debate were feeling.
God is present right here, right now as you read this post.
The Bible even tells us about a time when Jesus had a conversation with a Samaritan woman.
He had asked her to give Him some water.
She was surprised that He had asked her.
Surprised because there was great hatred between the Samaritans and the Jews, but Jesus did not show any anger.
Instead, He looked at it as the opportunity to teach her about Divine things.
Letting her know that God isn’t an idol.
That God is Spirit.
Almighty, ever present and there all the time.
That “those who worship [Him] must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24).
She told Him that she knew the “Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things” (v.25).
“Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he” (v.25).
He was able to convert her by showing her that she lacked knowledge, the sinfulness of her life and her need for salvation.
There are many who still need to acknowledge this fact.
We may not see His face, but God is always present with us.
He provides, guides, and gives us the comfort we need.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know we don’t see Your face, but we know who You are. You are loving God, and we desire to worship and give You praise. Your Spirit is ever present, and we are thankful. May we let nothing keep us from fellowshipping with You.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
