He Worked It Out

Read: Isaiah 53

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:12 KJV

“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief” (Isaiah 53:3).

Jesus, the Messiah, the “man of sorrows”, was “despised and rejected” because of sin.

The Prophet Isaiah was telling the people that the Lord allowed Himself to be bruised and grieved as an offering for our sins (v.10).

He made Himself subject to death. It was the wages He paid to take away the sins of the world (v. 11, 12).

The Lord desired to see [us] as His seed, to prolong [our] days and see us find pleasure as [we] prosper in His hand (v.11).

Because the Lord died for our sins, we can repent of our sins and observe the graces and glories the Lord wants to give us (v.12).

He has laid a firm foundation for the trembling sinner to rest his soul upon.

We are the purchased of his blood.

The monuments of His grace.

Because of this, He still pleads and prevails, destroying the works of the devil.

God has a purpose for each of our lives.

And whatever is undertaken according to God’s pleasure shall prosper.

Our happiness is secured and by faith we are justified.

Giving God all the glory.

Thanking the Lord for His sacrifice.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, when we look at the suffering of the Lord, let us remember that we were purchased by His blood. That He died for “our” sins, and we were forgiven. That Your grace rests upon us for all the world to see. You are the firm foundation to rest our souls upon. We are thankful that You are there to plead and prevail in our lives.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
