Today’s Reading: 1 Peter 4:7-11
Today’s Verse: “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10 KJV
God has given each of us unique abilities. He teaches us to use our gifts and talents to serve others.
God calls us to use our gifts. We do this by listening to and obeying His commands. We do it when we worship Him and serve others with devoted hearts.
Jesus is the greatest example of service.
The Bible says that even the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve others. He gave his life a ransom for many. (Mark 10:45 KJV).
World rulers seek authority. They want power over others.
Those who humble themselves to serve are the greatest in God’s kingdom.
Jesus did not come looking for the luxuries of this earth. He showed a life of humility and compassion.
When we follow His lead, we show humility and love. Submission is the goal. Wanting to be faithful stewards. Putting the needs of others before our own.
We are faithful stewards of God’s grace. We must manage these gifts in a wise and generous manner. Showing God’s grace in the best ways.
We need to encourage one another. Encourage contributions to the community. To support one another. We all have God-given abilities of love and service.
As Christians we should live in harmony. Hospitality is encouraged. Using the spiritual gifts received. Showing it for the benefit of the church and society.
All our efforts reinforce the idea that service is an expression of faith and stewardship.
With confidence we can say that the Lord is our portion. Nothing but glory through Christ Jesus, is forever solid and lasting.
We must take the time to focus and embrace our unique spiritual gifts. Using them to serve others as a good steward of the graces God has given us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that You have placed gifts in each of us. Help us to recognize the things You have entrusted to us. Give us the courage to use them. Grant us a willing heart to let You grow and sharpen these gifts within us. To not hide or compare them. We are thankful that You will show us how to use these abilities to bless others. We want to serve others with all the strength and energy You supply. We want to reflect Your grace in a meaningful way. We want everything we do to bring glory and honor to You. Thank You for the gifts You have placed in our lives.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
