Judge Not – This is His Powerful Command – It’s Urgent

Read: Romans 7:15-25

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. Romans 2:1 KJV

There is no doubt that it is human nature for any of us to form an opinion or conclusion about someone else.

Nobody is perfect.

We all have made our mistakes and will continue to make them.

The good news, it is in our power to correct them.

Apostle Paul realized that by nature he was no different than the next person.

He knew there had been some things in his life that needed correcting.

He even acknowledged that we all deserve the punishment received for our actions.

Because of this fact, Paul was able to speak with compassion.

He told the people, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief”(1Timothy 1:15).

He knew that the Lord had been patient and merciful to him and that he wanted to show the same to others.

The same patience and mercy the Lord had shown him.

That is why the Lord has told us that any acts of judging is inexcusable.

That when we do we are condemning ourselves (Romans 2:1).

He sees and knows about all our thoughts and our actions.

So, before we judge anyone else, we need to take a good look at ourselves.

Thanking the Lord for all the changes He has and  is making in our lives.

That our biggest concern is to make sure we are doing things right,

Especially if we are telling others that we are one of His.

We all are still a work in progress.

Looking to make the corrections needed in our lives.

Not judging others, but being an example of what the Lord has done and is doing in our lives.

So when it is all over, we will hear Him say “Well Done.”

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, none of us are perfect. We all have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. Although it is human nature to want to judge others, through You we can change.  Let us judge ourselves in the ways of righteousness. So our focus will turn more to You and the desires You have for our lives.  Help us to remain steadfast in Your ways.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
