And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. Mark 14:33-34 KJV
There has never been a time when someone has not felt some type of pain or sorrow.
Both are emotions.
They can be ones of anguish, grief, regret, and woes.
Those ate the times we must let faith abound in our lives.
It will be hard at times, and it may take some time to get to a place of peace.
But we can never forget that even Jesus faced pain and sorrow.
He knows just how we feel.
When He was in the garden the night before His crucifixion there were the moments when sorrow, fear, a feeling of abandonment, and even depression came upon Him.
The Savior “offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death” (Hebrews 5:7 KJV).
Asking the question, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34 KJV).
Jesus was talking to the Father just like we of faith should do.
We know we can endure the pain because just like Him we know that the God of love can be trusted no matter how things appear in our lives.
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit” (Psalms 34:18 KJV).
When we stand on the knowledge that God’s hand is in everything, we will have no problem with leaving all our pains and sorrows with Him.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we know there will always be a time in our life when we may feel pain or sorrow. Because we know You have endured it more than we ever will, we turn to You in faith. Each time we do, we grow stronger in our relationship with You. Thank You for hearing our prayers and helping us to understand what it means to make it through anything we face in life.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
