Let Them Come

Read: Mark 10:13-16

But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Mark 10:14 KJV

It has always been so uplifting to see young children showing that they know what it means to acknowledge and praise God.

They not only participate in the praise and worship services, but they also participate in children’s Bible studies and have no problem with asking questions.

This is happening only because their parents, guardians or loved ones desired that they know more about the Lord and what He has done and is doing for us.

Just like He desires for us to learn about Him, He desires that the knowledge of Him start during our childhood.

He always welcomes little children to come to Him and has referred to them in His teachings (Matthew 11:25; 21:16).

In this passage, He was not pleased with His disciples for attempting to not let parents bring their children to Him for blessings.

He rebuked them saying, “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14).

It is a commandment of the Lord that should not be overlooked.

All children should be led to the Savior from a young age.

It begins while they are yet babies.

Many churches hold baptism services where parents or guardians acknowledge the child as a blessing from God.

Desiring that they are protected and come to know the Lord as they grow.

As the child grows many sing songs of praise and read children Bible stories to them.

Some of the best ways to plant the seed of knowledge in them.

As they get older, and understand more, we make sure to continue to water the seed, which is the Word, even more in their lives.

We do this at home and by having them attend children services at church.

We are all His children and even as adults, we need to have the planted seed in our lives watered.

The Lord has told us that we sometimes need to change our ways.

To go back to our childhood days when we were more willing to learn some things (Matthew 18:3).

To come back to Him with open hearts.

Letting our childlike emotions of curiosity and joy, continue to help us grow in our knowledge of the Lord.

To grow and learn more about Him and the plans He has for our lives.

We are all His children.

He wants us all to come to Him.

Let us not deny our children to come and learn of Him, just like we do.

Our faith grows even more when we have a childlike heart that is willing to learn.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, our prayer is that nothing or no one stop the bringing of children to Your throne. That they learn more about You as much as possible. Praying the even those of us who are no longer a child in age, become more childlike in spirit when it comes to our relationship with You. Desiring to continue to learn more about You and the plans for our lives. Like any child, we want to run into Your loving arms and hear what You have to say. Thank You for caring about us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
