Lifelong Inspiration

Read: 2 Timothy 3:10-17

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV

From an early age, we are taught how to do things.

As we grow, we gain knowledge, wisdom, and the skills we need to advance in life.

During our growth there will be moments when we do things wrong regarding our actions, and we need to correct them.

What we learn from them, can be a testimony we can share with others.

Hoping that they will also learn something before they make the same mistake or at least have some idea how to correct them.

Knowing that what we go through is not always bad.

The knowledge we receive works for our good.

Timothy travelled with Paul and was fortunate to have him in his life.

Paul was a powerful example to him.

Even when Paul went to prison, he remained in contact with Timothy.

In his letters he would remind him, “You…know my doctrine, my manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me” (vv.10-11).

That he was to “continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (vv.14-15).

His reminder to Timothy still holds true to this day.

Paul’s life shows us the need for building our lives on the things of God.

That we can be assured that our knowledge of the Holy Scriptures is the path to Divine revelation.

It is something we all should apply to our lives.

The Bible is the powerful, God-given source that we need to teach and to demonstrate to others who want to be led by the Lord.

It is the best thing for all purposes of our Christian life.

It is what we need in our faith walk.

None of us are exempt from the need to be taught.

We need to be made aware of our mistakes and receive correction.

The Scriptures has something to teach us about any situation we find ourselves in.

There is room for us to learn something every day.

We should all be thankful that the Lord has made it possible for certain individuals to be in our lives.

Showing us that we all have had a moment when the Lord stepped in and put someone in their life to help them.

A blessing that helped them grow in faith.

Let us listen to what Paul told Timothy.

Let us follow the Lord’s example and be the one of the ones He has called.

Living a life that encourages others to desire to learn more about Him and follow Him.

The Bible is our sure guide.

It is full of the Lord’s comfort, strength, and shelter.

It makes us wise unto salvation through faith and puts us on a path to eternal life.
