As Christians we pass through some dark tunnels of depression that leads us to focus on our sinful weaknesses and failures.
We look at where we have come from, feel like nothing will change and wish life could be over.
God sees all of this and uses these times in a positive way.
He uses them as the opportunity to enlarge our appreciation for His all-encompassing and all-sufficient grace.
The Savior allows these experiences to happen to show us that if we continue to let our sinful thoughts and temptations of our past take over, we will never find the grace He has for us.
That is what was happening with Elijah.
He was on a mission to be of service to Israel at that time.
Jezebel, the wife of Ahab, king of Isreael, sent Elijah a threatening message.
Her heart was set on the things of the flesh and were against God.
The One who could convince and conquer them all.
Great faith is not always strong.
Elijah had all reason to depend on God’s protection, while doing His work, yet he flees to the wilderness.
God allowed Elijah to be to himself to show him that when he was bold and strong, it was the Lord and power of His might.
That when he tried to do things of himself, he was not better than his fathers.
He is telling us the same thing.
God knows what He has designed us for.
The services we will render and the trials we will face, even though we do not.
God will take care that we are furnished with grace sufficient to bring us through it all.
Remember, no matter what we face in life, God always helps us and we can appreciate the glorious light of His grace.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, although we are tempted to give up on life, let our souls take refuge in the fact that You are there for us. You are our strength and refuge. The light of your grace shines against any sin. Thank You Father!
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
