Love: A Sure Thing Greater When You’ve Received Him

Read: 1 John 3:1-4

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 1 John 3:1 KJV

How wonderful it is to feel the love of those around us.

The love of our parents, our siblings, even our close friends.

The love of fellow worshippers, and those who speak kindly as we pass them.

But there is no greater feeling of love than the love of God.

How by its power it makes all believers His children.

The world is missing out on so much when they fail to make Him a part of their lives.

The happiness of the real followers of Christ is so wonderful.

There is nothing like being able to take the time to consider all He has done and is doing for us.

Knowing that if it wasn’t for His loving grace, things could be so much worse.

This is what we need to do when we begin to wonder about “what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us” and the reason why “we should be called the sons of God” (1 John 3:1 KJV).

Whenever we are in doubt, the Bible gives us much to think about.

It gives the answer to the many questions we have.

The sacrifice God made in allowing Jesus to die on the cross is the greatest “manner of love” we were given.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8 KJV).

We know that His love is strong, and uplifting.

To this day we feel His never-ending love.

His love is so powerful it is always protecting us against our enemies.

Our confidence in Him should always remain devoted to reading and spreading the Word.

Sharing the same unselfish love, He has given us.

God loves every one of us.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we admire the love You show us. How You make every believer one of Your children. We find the strength we need in the Word. It is a constant reminder of all the sacrifices You made. The greatest one being the death of Christ on the cross. We will cheerfully spread the Word and tell of the love and kindness to be gained when we put our trust in You. Thank You for keeping a loving arm around us.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
