Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.Romans 6:12 KJV
Think about the last time you tried to change a bad habit.
Something you knew wasn’t good and could cause trouble in the end.
We all have them.
It isn’t always easy.
It isn’t easy, because we get comfortable with doing things the old way, that the new way is uncomfortable.
We sometimes even feel embarrassed.
Sin has a way of putting us in this position.
Our sinful natures have to cease.
They can be broken and no longer have a place in our lives.
Listen to what the Apostle Paul is telling us.
He said, “I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness” (v.19).
We all should desire to make the necessary changes in our lives and with God’s help we can do it (vv. 12-13).
It may not be easy, but for God’s glory and our own good, we must make the effort.
He is ready to fill us with His love and power.
To give us the knowledge we need to be victorious in any situation.
Let us all be willing to look at our lives and make the changes necessary.
We must be willing to change.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, the strongest motive we have against sin is our love for You. Thank You for Your Spirit. For filling us with love and power. For changing us into the image of Christ. Day by day may we listen and overcome our fear of change and follow You.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
