A name is a word or set of words by which a person is known.
Names have meaning.
They are said to reveal something about who we are, where we come from and where we are headed.
For Christians, the name above all names is “Jesus” (Philippians 2:9).
An angel announced, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
Jesus’ name is the most exalted and meaningful name on earth and in heaven.
In His name, we find the grace of God.
All the wonder of redemption, all that we believe, and all that we hope to gain.
His name we say, sing, and it fills our souls with a deep love and respect for Him.
There is never a day we aren’t reminded of all the things He has done for us.
We worship at His name.
We all await the day of glory when every knee will bow and every-tongue, will praise the highest and holiest of all names.
That name is “Jesus”.
It’s the name above all names!
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, names have meanings and Your name is sweet. It means to deliver, to rescue, and that it what You do for us all. We sing praises to Your name. It is heaven’s password for those who believe.
